Mike Thalassitis spent final hours drinking in popular Towie pub as pals reveal he seemed 'excited for future'

TRAGIC Mike Thalassitis was drinking in a popular Towie pub and seemed "excited for the future" just hours before he died.

The Love Island star, 26, had been chatting with Three Colts landlord Adam Brooks about a new cafe he was planning on opening in Loughton, Essex.

Just hours later, he was discovered hanged in a park in Edmonton, North London, with cops not treating his death as suspicious.

Mr Brooks wrote on Twitter: "I’ve just seen this and I’m in total shock , how sad…I was only chatting with him last night at my pub…How unbelievably tragic…My thoughts are with his Family and his friends at this sad time".

He continued: "That’s me done tonight on here .. he wasn’t a friend ,but he seemed a very nice guy , we were only chatting last night about his new cafe project in Loughton High Rd and wanted my advice.

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

"He was excited for it. Truly gutted for him, his family and friends #LifeIsCruel #RIPmike".

Staff at The Three Colts, which is in upmarket Buckhurst Hill, confirmed to Sun Online that Mike had been in the boozer the night before his death.

The celeb haunt is just a stone’s throw from a beauty salon where filming takes place for Towie.

YOU'RE NOT ALONE

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.

It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes. And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet, it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign. To remind anyone facing a tough time, grappling with mental illness or feeling like there's nowhere left to turn, that there is hope.

To mark World Suicide Prevention Day, we told you the stories of brave survivors, relatives left behind, heroic Good Samaritans – and shared tips from mental health experts.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others. You're Not Alone.

Ex-footballer Mike – affectionately nicknamed Muggy Mike on Love Island – had been due to open up a restaurant called The Skillet in Loughton along with business partner Scott Neilson.

Flowers have been left outside the cafe Mike following news of his tragic death.
