Mike Thalassitis’ lover Ellie O’Donnell reveals he ‘helped her massively through a difficult time’ before his death age 26

MIKE Thalassitis’ ‘girlfriend’ Ellie O’Donnell has revealed he “helped her massively through a difficult time” prior to his death.

The model, 22, has been left shocked and devastated by the news after “growing close” to the Love Island star, who was found dead over the weekend.

In an Instagram Story post, she wrote: “He was someone who grew close to me and helped me massively through a difficult time of my life.

“He was a dear friend to me like he was to many other people who have posted about him. I can’t believe he has gone. It has left so many of us in shock.”

Ellie, who previously dated Stephen Bear, is just one of the people who have come forward to reveal Mike had supported them during their own difficult times.

Yesterday Ellie posted a tribute on Instagram, along with photos of them drinking cocktails just a week ago.

She wrote: “You were literally texting me yesterday pictures of the samples for the colour of the tables in your new restaurant. That was your last text to me.

“You were the kindest soul, you were so funny.

“I’m glad I got to hear you laugh and see you smile before you left this world.”

She continued: "These pics & this video were literally taken last week, I can't believe we were laughing and joking then eating pizza and now you are not even here. It doesnt feel real, I am numb and feel sickened.

"Mike, il never forget you. Il never forget how passionate you were about your new restaurant, and il never forget you telling me about your trip to Thailand telling me how it was the best experience of your life just going out there with no plans, travelling around just living your best life.

“You told me one day, once the restaurant is up and running your gonna book a one way ticket again and go live your best life.

"I know I didn't get to spend much time with you but I cannot believe this has happened and I wish I could have helped save you. This will haunt me for the rest of my life. I don't think I will ever come to terms with it. RIP Mike."

Police confirmed yesterday that Mike was found hanged in a park in Edmonton, North London, on Saturday, adding that they were not treating the death as suspicious.

A Met Police spokesperson explained they had been called to a park near Latymer Way about 9.30am yesterday to "reports of a man found hanged".

Despite paramedics rushing to the scene, he was pronounced dead, with a file now being prepared for the coroner.
