Megan's tragic Emmerdale exit storyline revealed

Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) has had an arduous time of it during her life in Emmerdale – not only did she witness the breakdown of her brother Declan and get treated abhorrently by Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) but she has endured the tragic deaths of her beloved son Robbie and now her would-be fiance Frank Clayton (Michael Praed).

Frank was on a mission to retrieve the engagement ring he’d bought for Megan, which was in his factory locker, when he was caught in the factory explosion, having just been the hero and saved daughter Tracy Shankley’s (Amy Walsh) life. And Tracy now seems to be one of the very few fighting to clear Frank’s name as suspicions over the ex-con’s motives in the factory continue to mount.

With Megan having lost her chance at happiness, Frank’s funeral looms and Megan she has no idea whether or not she should go. As Vanessa tries to gather her strength, Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) is rocked by the ongoing guilt of her role in Frank’s death Kerry (Laura Norton) knows today won’t be easy.

Later, Megan’s floored when Tracy reveals the ring box that she thinks Frank was retrieving from the factory when he was killed. Processing what Tracy’s told her, Megan puts the ring on and crumbles into guilty tears – this has changed everything and confirmed that Frank indeed loved her.

Outside the church, Tracy tries to prove Frank’s innocence in regards to the fire to the villagers, but is angered when Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) doesn’t support her and stand by her dad. The funeral gets underway and Megan delivers some tough words to the congregation before then making a life changing decision.

With little left in the village for her and Gaynor having filmed her final scenes, this looks like goodbye. But will Megan give Emmerdale residents food for thought about Frank before she says her final farewell?
