Max George reveals nerves at relationship with Maisie Smith turning romantic after falling for her on Strictly tour | The Sun

MAX George has revealed he was nervous for his relationship with Maisie Smith to turn romantic on the Strictly Come Dancing tour.

The couple grew close while touring the UK together earlier this year after meeting on the BBC One dance competition in 2020.

Max, 33, and Maisie, 21, have now opened up about the moment sparks began to fly between them as a romance blossomed.

The Wanted singer revealed that he was "nervous" whether Maisie shared his feelings as they holidayed with cast and crew in Portugal.

Max and the EastEnders actress had jetted off in June to enjoy a much-needed post-tour break alongside their Strictly tour co-stars.

Opening up in a tell-all interview with Hello!, Max said: "Towards the end of the holiday, I could feel I was looking at her differently."

"I thought: 'What's happening here?' I was pretty nervous to see if it was reciprocated," the singer added.

It was clear Maisie's feelings were the same – as the couple went public with their romance in September, heading out in public as an item for the first time the following month.

The singer gushed that becoming the former EastEnders actress' boyfriend after their holiday was the "best thing he's ever done".

"The moment I first kissed Mais, that was mental," he continued, as the soap star chimed in to agree: "Fireworks".

Elsewhere, Max confirmed the pair were now "living together", and were keen to take the next steps and "get a place together".

It comes after Max and Maisie fuelled engagement rumours after the actress flashed a HUGE ring on holiday with her beau.

The couple were enjoying a romantic "baecation" with both of their families in Cyprus when Maisie was seen wearing the ring.

The actress first got fans talking last week when, in pictures shared to Instagram, Maisie could be seen sporting bling on her ring finger as the loved-up couple posed in the sun.

Fans were quick to point out the new addition with one commenting: "Is that an engagement ring?"

She further fuelled speculation in loved-up snaps, as well as a video of the pair enjoying an open-top bus ride and snuggling up together.

In the clip, Maisie looks very content as she wraps her arm around Max’s shoulder while sporting the bling on her ring finger.
