'LPBW': Matt Roloff Is Expressing His Excitement Over Jacob Roloff's Marriage
When Little People, Big World first began, Matt and Amy Roloff and their four children were on the show. But a lot has changed since the beginning. Not only are Matt and Amy now divorced and in serious relationships of their own, but only Zach Roloff and his wife, Tori, are regulars on the show. Aside from them, it’s rare that Molly makes any appearances, and Jeremy has also spoken about stepping away from the series. But the most outspoken Roloff is the youngest, Jacob.
Jacob has talked at length regarding why he chose to leave the show. And plenty of publications have reported a rift between him and Matt due to their differences. But the good news is that Jacob is getting married — and Matt’s sharing his excitement on Instagram. Here’s what’s going on.
Jacob Roloff is set to marry Isabel Rock on Sept. 7
As the black sheep of the family, Jacob has caused massive uproar over the years after he left Little People, Big World. While his siblings who aren’t regulars on the show will still make appearances here and there, Jacob has made it known he wants nothing to do with reality TV. But he still has public social media so his fans can follow him — and him and his fiancee, Isabel Rock, are excited to tie the knot on Sept. 7.
Jacob and his fiancee first met on the school bus, and three years later, Rock told The Knot that he proposed to her on Christmas Day while they were on a trip to Iceland. After a year of preparations, they’re now set to wed on the beach and then follow their ceremony up with a wedding reception on Roloff Farms. All of the Roloff kids have has their weddings on the farm, but Jacob has chosen to keep the cameras away from the event completely.
Matt and Jacob have reportedly had a strained relationship over the years
Matt has been posting a few photos of Jacob on his Instagram as of late as the wedding gets closer. But publications in the past reported the father-son duo had a strained relationship. Many believe that Jacob resents his parents altogether for forcing him on to reality TV as a child. And it appears he may also have some built-up resentment against Matt when it comes to his parents’ divorce.
“I think when his parents divorced he put a lot of the blame on his dad. His mom was hurting for a long time, and he believes Matt was the sole cause of that — like his dad is the one that blew up the whole family,” an insider told Radar Online. “They’re both slowly building on their relationship, but I did know Jacob was very angry when his parents were first going through the divorce.”
It appears whatever tensions may have been present have been dealt with now, though, as Matt appears excited for Jacob and his fiancee to tie the knot.
Matt is sharing his excitement in a new Instagram post
Fans of the show know Amy Roloff chose to sell her half of Roloff Farms to Matt, but she’s still staying on the property for now. And one of the reasons for staying, as she explained on Facebook Live, is so Jacob can have this wedding on the farm while she’s still around. Amy said, “All of the three kids got married on the farm. And I said, oh, for me to make sure that this happens, November 1 — they’re getting married this September. … These are certain things that I wanted to make sure in my decision making because this is at least what I could do for Jacob.”
After this comment, there was speculation that Matt didn’t want Jacob getting married on the farm. But judging from this Instagram video, that’s seemingly not the case. “We are certainly working and laboring away here getting ready for Jacob and Izzy’s big day,” Matt says in the video. He then tours around the farm on his golf cart while explaining exactly how they’re getting the farm picture-perfect for the reception. “We’re all excited about that — getting ready for a big event.”
While Jacob’s wedding won’t be on an episode of the show, we’re still hopeful Matt and Amy will post plenty of photos so their fans can see the happy day!
