After Friday night’s explosive episode of Love Island, Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish appeared happier than ever after the water engineer professed his love for the blonde bombshell.
But not everyone is convinced by his latest declaration of love after the 21-year-old shared her exciting news with her fellow islanders which received a cold reception.
Shortly after Jake shared his love for her, Liberty wasted no time in sharing the news with her villa besties over by the firepit.
As the girls gathered around the loved-up Lib, the Brummy lass revealed her boyfriend’s romantic gesture up on the rooftop terrace.
The marketing student beamed from ear to ear as she told them: “You guys are going to be so proud of me.
“I literally went upstairs and said how I felt and I didn’t take no s**t and I stood my ground.
“He then said, ‘You know what Lib? You make me feel ways that I didn’t feel before. You make me nervous.’ And then he goes ‘I do love you.’
“He said those words to me and I feel so happy,” she squealed as the shared their latest milestone together.
But her fellow islanders aren’t convinced his feelings are genuine after Liberty raised her concerns with him about their relationship just 12 hours prior to his change of heart.
Chloe looked over at her villa bestie and said: “You’re going to hate me. Do you not think he’s telling you what you want to hear?”
Shocked with their unexpected reaction Liberty asks the rest of the group: “Is that what all you guys think?”
Eager to comfort her struggling friend, Faye responds: “I don’t know baby.”
Now worried that she’s done the wrong thing, Liberty questions: “Do you think I'm being an idiot?”
To which Chloe responds: “I don’t think he would say something if he didn’t mean it but I also think is it convenient that he said it this evening after all of this?”
