Love Island fans fumed as their screens cut out just minutes into the launch of the hit ITV dating show.

The second ever winter series of Love Island returned to screens on Monday night and saw a new set of singletons begin their hunt for love in the South African villa.

But as viewers prepared to watch Kai Fagan's VT, viewers' screens glitched and faded to black for a moment.

The technical blunder was immediately picked up on by fans who headed straight to social media to voice their frustrations.

"Did the show just cut out for anyone else? #LoveIsland," penned one viewer.

Another asked: "why did my tv cut out… #LoveIsland."

A third echoed: "Did anyone else’s love island just randomly cut out to a black screen?! #LoveIsland."

"Did anyone else's TV just cut out #LoveIsland," added someone else.

This year's series has already featured a new format change as the boy have chosen which girl they want to couple up with.

In previous year's, it has always been the female contestants that decide whether or not to step forward for the boy they want to get to know, but producers have reversed the roles for the first time.
