Love Island 2021 first couples confirmed ahead of bombshell shake-up

It’s the night everyone has been waiting for! Love Island is back and sexier than ever.

The contestants are all safely in the new and improved villa in Majorca and there’s a real mix – from a Nando’s waitress to a bad boy tennis player.

Host Laura Whitmore asked the girls – Kaz Kamwi, Liberty Poole, Sharon Gaffka, Faye Winter and Shannon Singh – to line up before the boys – Jake Cornish, Aaron Francies, Hugo Hammond, Toby Aromolaran and Brad McClelland – arrived one by one.

The sizzling singletons wasted no time in choosing a match, and the very first couples of the series were revealed.

Jake was up first to choose, and ended up with the stunning Liberty.

Aaron came next, choosing Shannon despite her not choosing to step forward for him – and forgetting her name.

Both Faye and Kaz had stepped forward for him.

"I'd like to go with, erm, the one on number five please," he told host Laura as the couple snuggled up.

When asked her reasoning for not stepping forward, Shannon explained it away as "just nerves", while Faye said: "If he doesn't remember the girl's name, I've dodged a bullet!"

PE teacher Hugo was next up – but none of the ladies stepped forward for him.

Hugo plumped for Faye regardless, after remarking that he'd have to up his game to get catch someone's eye.

Faye insisted she hadn't stepped forward because he looked a bit "too kind" as he was approaching the line-up.

Toby was next up, telling Laura that he'd "never" been in love, and was "so ready" for it – but, tragically, none of the girls stepped forward again.

"I'm kinda rattled, I can't lie to you," Toby admitted, but eventually opted for Faye – snatching her away from Hugo, who was relegated to the subs' bench.

"It's a long game, not a short game, so we'll be alright!" a cheerful Hugo said from the bench.
