Love Island 2020: Mike and Leanne to split as new girl delivers shock confession?

Mike and Leanne’s relationship has become one of the biggest talking points on this year’s Love Island with ITV2 viewers rooting for the pair since day one. Mike decided to couple up with Leanne on the very first episode of the new winter series and, despite briefly pairing up with Jess, the duo are now frontrunners with the bookmakers to win the entire series. However, new girl Rebecca may prove to be an obstacle in their way.

Model and carer Rebecca was unveiled as the latest islander to head to South Africa in tonight’s episode (January 19).

Just days after Eve fell victim to the first recoupling of the series, Rebecca will enter the villa to see if any heads can be turned.

At the time of her arrival, the couples stand as Connagh and Sophie, Mike and Leanne, Nas and Jess, Finley and Paige, Connor and Siannise and Callum and Shaughna.

However, judging by Rebecca’s aims before going into the villa – that could all be about to change.

That’s because when asked which boy/boys in the villa she has her eye on, Rebecca confessed to liking Mike.

She also revealed what her plan would be going forward, saying: “I need to chat to them.

“I haven’t seen enough of them to know how I’m going to approach it. I like funny guys,

“So I’m thinking making the guy laugh is a tick in the box. But no smooth moves, I’ll just be myself.”

Describing her ideal man to ITV, Rebecca also said: “I like a ‘Jack the lad’.

“He’s got to be the centre of attention easy to get along with, and someone who gets involved with the chat.”

Rebecca has also said she’s prepared to go “as far as I need to go” in order to land the man she wants.

While Rebecca’s entrance could spell trouble for Mike and Leanne’s romance, the new girl has also mentioned two other islanders she has her eye on.

Connagh and Callum are the other two contestants to have caught Rebecca’s eye before entering the villa.

Could this spell trouble for Shaughna and Sophie as well?

Some ITV2 viewers may even recognise the new Love Island star for her achievements in the modelling world.

Rebecca revealed: “I won Miss Newcastle in 2018 and came sixth in Miss England 2019.”
