Love Island 2019 salaries: Cast’s HUGE pay rise revealed one week ahead of launch

Love Island is back and in two weeks time the popular reality dating show will be taking over television screens across the nation for another long, hot summer.

And while fans eagerly await its return, the new cast members will be preparing themselves to enter the villa, all hoping to couple up and find love.

But many of them will have to give up their full-time jobs for the quest.

According to the Daily Star, the hit ITV2 show has increased the amount of money they give to the contestants who take part in the show.

Last year during the fourth series, the time spent in the villa was extended to eight weeks, the longest series to date.

And it seems this year is going to be no different, except for the pay.

It has been revealed how the contestants will be earning £250 a week to “compensate” the time they have given up to be on the show.

Despite the increased sum from last year’s apparent £2.80 an hour, a source told the publication the figure still wasn’t enough.

“Everyone knows that stepping into that villa brings good and bad things,” they said. “They risk coming out and being trolled on Twitter, their dreams of being a realty stat dashed, work dries up and ending up feeling depressed and having issues.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Love Island for comment.

In the meantime, there are several suggestions as to who is going to be entering the villa.

Curtis Pritchard, the younger brother of Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard has reportedly signed up to the series.

According to The Sun, the 23-year-old professional dancer will jet out to Majorca next month.

A source said: “His body is ideal for being in swimwear all day, plus he’s a lovely bloke with a great sense of humour so is sure to be a hit with the ladies.

“They are also hoping that he will bring some sexy salsa moves to the villa.”

Another rumoured entry is Tommy Fury, boxing legend Tyson Fury’s younger brother.

A source told the Daily Star: “Tommy is one of the hottest young boxers on the circuit. He’s already got a huge following, and has been getting quite a lot of attention from the girls.

“He’s been out and about in Manchester over the last few months since splitting up with his ex and always cleans up.

“He’s very confident when it comes to the ladies. He’s got a lot of cheeky banter and isn’t shy in coming forward.”

Alternatively, Kobi-Jean Cole, who is currently Miss Great Britain could be arriving in Majorca soon after posting a series of hints on her social media profiles.

Love Island returns to ITV2 on Monday 3rd June at 9pm.
