Kevin Hart calls embattled friend Ellen DeGeneres ‘one of the dopest people’ and demands ‘this hate s**t has to stop!’ – The Sun

KEVIN Hart has defended his friend Ellen DeGeneres, calling her "one of the dopest people on the planet".

Amid ongoing allegations from former staffers that the talk show host is "cold" and has a "toxic" work environment, Kevin said that "this hate s**t" has to stop" and insisted that she had only ever treated his family with "love and respect."

Alongside a picture of him with Ellen on her show, he wrote: "It’s crazy to see my friend go thru what she’s going thru publicly (sic.)

"I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the fucking planet. She has treated my family and my team with love and respect from day 1.

"The internet has become a crazy world of negativity….we are falling in love with peoples down fall.(sic) It’s honestly sad…When did we get here?"

He continued: "I stand by the ones that I know and that I love. Looking forward to the future where we get back to loving one another….this hate shit has to stop. Hopefully it goes out of style soon."

He concluded: "This post is not meant to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences. It’s simply to show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen."

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is currently under an internal investigation after employees came forward about experiencing "racism, fear and intimidation” while working there.

Katy Perry is another celebrity who has also come to Ellen's defense, with the pregnant singer – who has been a guest on Ellen's show numerous times – showing her support for the comedian, 62, online.

Taking to Twitter, Katy insisted that she's only ever had "positive takeaways" from her interactions with the TV star and her crew.

She began: "I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow.

"I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades.

"Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow."

Ellen's wife Portia de Rossi has also broken her silence and said she "stands by" her.

"To all our fans….we see you. Thank you for your support. #stopbotattacks," the model shared on her social media on Monday afternoon.

Portia's comment comes after various celebrities have shown support for the famed daytime show host, such as Polo player Nacho Figueras and Scooter Braun.

However Lea Thompson, Bachelor’s Corinne Olympios, and actor Brad Garrett have all spoken out against the 62-year-old.

Ellen – who faces losing partnerships – was accused by employees of allowing a set that saw them suffer from "racism, fear and intimidation”.

BuzzFeed News also reported staff claimed to have been fired because they took medical leave or bereavement days to attend family funerals.

Others alleged they were told by their managers to not speak directly to Ellen if they saw her at the office.
