Kate Garraway ‘willing Derek on’ in bedside vigil after Covid-stricken husband suffers heart attack before Christmas | The Sun

KATE Garraway is 'willing Derek on' in a 24-7 bedside vigil after he suffered a huge heart attack just before Christmas.

The brave family have come together to pray for "fighter" Derek, 56, after he was taken seriously ill last Monday.

Wife Kate has since cancelled all TV and radio presenting while she supports her husband who is "fighting for his life" once again, after a Covid infection in 2020 sparked years of heartbreaking health battles.

A source told The Sun last night: "Kate is by his side 24 hours a day and is willing him on to win this latest battle for his life.

"Kate has been utterly incredible — by his side while being an amazing mum to Darcey and Billy, and trying to manage their expectations of a family Christmas.”

The dad-of two was rushed to hospital in March 2020 where he spent 214 days on a ventilator, nearly four months in an induced coma and lost eight stone as well as his ability to speak properly.
