Jinger Duggar Said 1 of Her Younger Sisters Helped Her the Most Through Her Miscarriage
For as long as fans have followed the Duggars, we’ve known that the siblings stick together. And all of the Duggar sisters seem to be incredibly close. While Jinger Duggar now lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, she still depends on her siblings for support, love, and friendship. And she recently opened up about one of her younger sisters who was particularly helpful after she miscarried her second child.
Here’s what Jinger had to say about how guidance from younger sister Joy-Anna Duggar really helped her during one of the most difficult times in her life.
Jinger Duggar went through a miscarriage prior to her current pregnancy

Jinger is currently pregnant, and she shared the news with her Instagram followers at the end of May. Since then, she’s been giving her followers plenty of updates regarding how the pregnancy is progressing. And she also shared a bit about the miscarriage she went through prior to carrying her current baby.
“On a Monday evening, Jer and I were rejoicing with our families as we announced that I was pregnant,” Jinger wrote in an Instagram caption on May 29. “Yet, in God’s perfect timing, it was the next morning that I awoke knowing something wasn’t right.”
Jinger then went on to explain she knew she lost the baby, and it “cloaked” her with sadness. But she knew God had bigger things in store for her, so she had to wait it out and see what was ahead. “Dear friends, the reality is, at times we are helpless. But never, and I mean never, do we have to be hopeless,” she added.
Joy-Anna Duggar also miscarried
Jinger isn’t the first of her sisters to miscarry. Joy-Anna is also currently pregnant, but prior to this pregnancy, she miscarried when she was 20 weeks pregnant.
“Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time,” Joy-Anna wrote to Instagram back in July 2019 when the miscarriage occurred. “Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord. In the words of King David after the loss of his baby, ‘I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me’ (2 Sam 12:23).”
Joy-Anna posted again about the miscarriage a year after it happened. “It’s been a year since we found out that we lost Annabell,” she wrote. “It hurts to look back at these pictures and remember the pain and heartbreak, but when I do look back I am so thankful for how far we’ve come.”
Jinger said Joy-Anna was her rock through it all
Since Jinger had a miscarriage after Joy-Anna, it seems she relied heavily on Joy-Anna to help her get through the hard times. And Jinger talked to Us Weekly about how her little sister helped her through.
“I talked to Joy a lot in that time,” Jinger said. “We grew closer. We were already close, but that relationship even deepened all the more having been through the same thing. [It] was very difficult, but I was grateful for Joy to be able to talk to her.”
Jinger noted that Joy-Anna has also “walked through everything” first despite her younger age. “With her little one that she has on the way now following the miscarriage, [we talked about] how she was dealing with that and even all the fears that come up and how she was trusting God through that,” Jinger added.
Aside from Joy-Anna, Josiah Duggar’s wife, Lauren, also miscarried her first child — and Jinger noted she discussed her struggles with Lauren as well.
We’re glad the Duggar sisters can rely on each other for support when times are tough!
