Jimmy Fallon Finally Finds a Celebrity as Competitive as He Is for 'Charades'

Alessia Cara did not come to "The Tonight Show" to play, except that that’s exactly what she was doing when she partnered with Anderson .Paak to take on Jimmy Fallon and Saoirse Ronan in a quick game of "Charades."

By now, we all know how much Jimmy loves his games, and we also know what a crazy competitive streak he has. Normally jovial and full of smiles, there’s a darkness that lurks beneath his nervous giggles and it comes out when he finds himself competing in almost any of the games on his show.

What’s rare, though, is finding someone who is just as passionate, just as competitive and just as driven to win. Suddenly, even for the viewers at home, the stakes were ever higher when it became clear just how intense Alessia was going to play this game.

She even tried to reject a clue early on when she thought it would be too hard for Anderson to guess. "I don’t want this one," she repeated over and over, but that’s not how the game works. But she should have had more faith in her partner, who pulled "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" out of a one-word charade.

In fact, it was Alessia who really struggled to pull "When Doves Cry" out of Anderson’s charades. In her defense, though, after getting her to identify the third word as "Cry" he shifted gears completely and started going a Prince impression. This only confused her more.

Meanwhile, Jimmy and Saoirse proved to have incredible chemistry, easily sailing through the first two rounds of the competition.

It all came down to the final round, with Alessia and Saoirse both up and giving clues for the same answer. "Drop It Like It’s Hot" is not an easy song to mime in a tense game of charades, and Alessia and Jimmy were both totally worked up by this point. Meanwhile, Anderson and Saoirse were just having a good time.
