Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson, traded cars for life on a farm with his new Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm. Alongside farm manager Kaleb Cooper, he had been learning his way around agriculture and machinery – a far cry from his motoring series. Jeremy recently opened up about the differences between the two shows.

Jeremy Clarkson is well known for starring in his British motoring series, The Grand Tour.

Alongside his co-stars Richard Hammond and James May, the trio would travel across the globe reviewing vehicles.

From Johannesburg, Scotland and Nashville they looked at pick up trucks, Italian classics and luxury vehicles.

As they embarked on their hilarious global adventure the hosts also dabbled in extraordinary experiences such as becoming special forces soldiers at a secret training base.

Viewers saw a new side to the presenter when Clarkson’s Farm aired in June.

He first purchased his farm Diddly Squat in 2008, however after the farmer retired Jeremy decided to learn his way around the land.

With zero farming experience, he was joined by 21-year-old farm manager Kaleb Cooper who attempted to teach him everything there was to know.

Fans watched the hilarious scenes as Kaleb was quick with banter and not afraid to tell Jeremy off for messing up.

This was seen in the season finale when Jeremy made a huge mistake when harvesting grain, he accidentally hired one lorry instead of 20 – which was required to reap 140 acres he had left.

When the newbie farmer asked if they were stuck, Kaleb responded: “Yes, completely stuck we can’t cut any more barley now because you f**ked up.

In a recent interview with Times Radio, Jeremy spoke to Giles Corren about ditching Hammond and May for life on a farm.

He confessed: “It’s refreshing, I think it’ll be refreshing for the viewers because people on my farm like Charlie, Kaleb and Gerald they’re not celebrities, they don’t want to be celebrities.

“They were actually quite annoyed to have the cameras poking in their noses all the time because they wanted to get on with the job and work,” Jeremy revealed.

He added: “I think it’s refreshing for people to see actual proper people on television which you rarely see these days.

“Kaleb is a star, he’s such a find and I enjoy spending time with him, he’s 21 and he’s more entrepreneurial than anyone I know,” Jeremy concluded, “he’s a great kid and acts older than me.”

Throughout the series, the presenter was forced to contend with disobedient animals, unresponsive crops and some of the worst farming weather in decades.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Jeremy, Richard and James stayed in the UK and as they ventured through Scotland.

As travelling outside the UK still has its challenges the trio and their producer Andy Wilman confirmed there would be another series special – which would be taking place in Wales.

Back at his Cotswold Farm, Jeremy and Kaleb will be returning to Amazon Prime for a second instalment.

Talking to social media, the presenter posted a video onto his Instagram page and said: ”Following the success of the first series, I’m delighted to say there will be a second series of Clarkson’s Farm.”

Clarkson’s Farm is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
