Janet Street-Porter claims Saira Khan is ‘stealing her kids' childhood’

Janet Street-Porter has accused Saira Khan of stealing her children’s childhood by posting pictures of them on social media.

Saira and Janet appeared alongside Ruth Langsford and Coleen Nolan on Loose Women, where they discussed whether they should ask their children before posting pictures of them online before they’re allowed their own social media accounts.

Speaking on the show, Saira admitted she believes it’s up to her whether she posts pictures of her kids, because people want to see an insight into her life.

‘I have quite a lot to say about this subject,’ Saira said.  ‘I use social media for inspiration, motivation and my followers they want to see what I’m like, not just on telly, but behind the scenes, and I’m a mother.

‘And they will look back when they’re sixteen, seventeen and eighteen, and have a very different view about what you’re doing now.

‘The pictures of my childhood are black and white photos in photo albums, you took a picture and you stuck it in a book, but now you feel it’s perfectly okay to tell the world [and] people you’ve never met.’

The topic was raised after Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple, was recently left unimpressed when the actress posted a picture of her on Instagram.

Writing in the comments of the picture, Apple said: ‘Mum we have discussed this. You may not post anything without my consent.’
