Jamie Laing's girlfriend denies Strictly Come Dancing 'curse' has struck amid rumours they've split

JAMIE Laing's girlfriend Sophie Habboo has denied they have been "struck by the show's curse" after rumours she had dumped him before the show even starts.

The Mail on Sunday reported Sophie, 25, feared fellow Made In Chelsea star Jamie, 30, would find it tough to stay faithful and she wasn't prepared to watch him cha-cha-cheating with a sexy female pro.

It was understood Sophie decided to cut ties with the radio presenter before he could get up to any hanky panky behind her back.

But a spokesman for the glamorous Made in Chelsea star insisted to The Sun Online: "They are very much together."

It comes just a day after Jamie declared he'd NEVER cheat on his girlfriend on the dancing show.

Speaking to The Mirror about his upcoming dancefloor debut, Jamie discussed the BBC ballroom's infamous curse and how he wouldn't dare to kiss his dance partner.

He said: "The Strictly curse is where you dance with your dance partner, get really close to them… I think that’s what happened to Seann Walsh.

"So many people have got with their Strictly dancers. I will still be seeing Habboo, I'm not going to start kissing my dancer!"

While hypothetically thinking of cheating on Sophie, Jaime said: "Imagine if she was front row, if I’d got to the end and potentially I was going to win it and there was all these rumours going around that I was flirting or getting with my partner.

"Habboo was on the front row but after the very last dance I spun her round and we started kissing!

"It wouldn't be something I'd do!"

At the time of the announcement, Jamie appeared on ITV's Loose Women and added that he's not official with Sophie but said they were dating.

He shared: "We are not boyfriend and girlfriend, we are just dating. I haven’t told her I am doing the show. I am not too worried. I don’t think anyone wants to kiss me."

In recent years, the notorious "curse" has led to a string of public break-ups as the celebrities move on with their dance partners.

Earlier this year it was revealed that newly crowned champion Stacey Dooley split from her boyfriend of five years and moved on with dance pro Kevin Clifton.

While comedian Seann Walsh was dumped by his girlfriend, Rebecca Humphries, after being pictured kissing partner Katya Jones – who is married to fellow dancer Neil Jones.

Eternal singer Louise Redknapp’s marriage to footy ace Jamie ended soon after she came runner-up in 2016.

Rugby hunk Ben Cohen split from his wife and got together with dance partner Kristina Rihanoff in 2013.

Kristina had previously dated her 2009 partner, boxer Joe Calzaghe, after he split from his girlfriend.

Last month, Countdown host Rachel Riley married her 2013 Strictly partner Pasha Kovalev – after leaving her husband of 15 months soon after the series.

Meanwhile, Jamie joins footballer David James, comedian Chris Ramsey, EastEnders star Emma Barton, YouTuber Saffron Barker, actress Catherine Tyldesley, BBC Breakfast's Mike Bushell and CBBC star Karim Zeroual for this year's instalment of Strictly.

A spokesman for Jamie Laing refused to comment.
