James Arthur wants to be a judge on The X Factor All Stars series after making up with Simon Cowell

JAMES Arthur wants to be involved in an X Factor All Stars series if it happens, saying he would “love” to be a judge rather than a contestant.

The 31-year-old singer, who won the ITV show in 2012, made up with boss Simon Cowell after previously being dropped from the head judge’s Syco label in 2014.

The star was performing at Radio 1’s Big Weekend when he revealed that he would like to be involved in the celeb version of the hit talent show.

He told the Mirror Online: “I’d love to get involved but I wouldn’t want to be a contestant.

“I’m still signed to a record label so I don’t think it would be right for me to take part in that way, but I’d definitely be up for helping out in some way.”

He later admitted that if Simon wanted “a really honest judge” he would be more than happy to do it.

After winning X Factor in 2012, James was sensationally from Simon’s Syco record label two years later after becoming embroiled in a string of controversies.

James sold millions of records during his first stint at Syco but his dream quickly fell to pieces.

The singer self-destructed with a series of inappropriate Twitter rants and an ill-fated rap battle.

Simon Cowell said at the time: “I think James unfortunately has had so many issues with what he has done.

“Somebody should have told him to shut up and just put the records out.”

However, after getting his act together, overcoming his dependence on marijuana and prescription drugs for depression, Syco resigned the X Factor winner in 2016.

A spokesman for Syco said at the time: “We can confirm that James Arthur is now once again signed to Syco Music in the UK. We are delighted to welcome him back into the Syco fold.”

James was linked to Jesy Nelson earlier this year after spotted getting cosy at a Brits after-party.

The sighting came after the Little Mix star had decided to cool down her romance with Love Island hunk, Chris Hughes.
However, Jesy and Chris have since gone public and appear to be very much in love with the two regularly posting soppy photos of the two of them.
