ITV Emmerdale spoilers – fan favourite quits village after 17 years after shock betrayal

David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) decides to leave the village when he discovers Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) is in a secret relationship with Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) in Emmerdale spoilers.

It’s David’s birthday, but Jacob struggles to celebrate with him as he feels the heat with his family trying to uncover his secret girlfriend’s identity.

Despite the gossip, Jacob and Victoria can’t resist the opportunity of an empty house. But soon after they arrive, David returns home.

Seeing straight through Jacob’s excuses to get him to leave, and intending to greet the ‘mystery’ partner, David is shocked when Jacob tells him that he’s seeing Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham).

David leaves but when he gets to the Woolpack, sees Gabby there. David teases Gabby about her supposed relationship with Jacob – but she has no idea what he’s talking about.

Deciding to return and find out what’s really going on, David is horrified to see Victoria and Jacob kissing.

Rocked by Jacob's betrayal and the news that his dad, Pollard, has Parkinson's, David makes a big decision – after saying some emotional goodbyes to his family members, he leaves the village for good.

Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) returns home from another night of searching for Reuben and Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland). Meanwhile, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) fears she’ll never hear from her sister Chloe again.

Desperate to find his son, Mack confronts Amy and Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) again for news, who are shocked to see him so low.

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is positive they will get Reuben back, so long as they stay on Amy’s good side.

Elsewhere, failing to connect with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and the family, Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam) decides it’s time for him to return to India.

Upset that his dad is leaving town, Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) asks Laurel to change her attitude towards his dad.

Laurel goes to see Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) to discover why Amit punched him – as Amit watches on fearing his secret may come out.

Later on, Suni books a night out with Nicky, Gabby and Ethan Anderson (Emile John), but not long after Suni dumps Nicky. Can Suni and Nicky make up or will something go wrong on the night out at the bar?

Also, there’s unfinished business between Caleb Miligan (Will Ash) and Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh). The pair are almost caught out by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) when they share a kiss at The Woolpack.
