Is Lacey Turner pregnant and how many children does she have?
Lacey Turner has announced that she is taking another break from EastEnders, with the news coming just as her character Stacey Fowler is due to return to Albert Square.
The actress had previously been on maternity leave from the soap and had been due to return sooner, only for her leave to be slightly extended by the closing of production on set due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Her exit storyline has yet to be confirmed – although it’s been speculated that her character may depart with Max Branning (Jake Wood).
But just why is Lacey taking another break? Could she be about to hear the patter of tiny feet once again?
Is Lacey Turner pregnant?
Lacey Turner has indeed announced the happy news that she is expecting her second child – meaning that she will take another period of maternity leave from Walford.
Lacey – who welcomed her first child last year after two devastating miscarriages – said she and husband Matt Kay felt ‘so lucky’ to be adding to their family.
‘After last time, we learned the best way was to have the attitude of ‘if it happens it happens’ – and then it did! It was a lovely surprise,’ she told OK!
According to the publication, Lacey is 16 weeks pregnant.
Metro.co.uk understands that she will take around a year’s maternity leave and does not intend to quit the soap.
How many children does Lacey Turner have?
Lacey and husband Matt are already parents to 14-month-old daughter Dusty, who was born in July 2019.
‘It took so long [to fall pregnant] with Dusty, but now they’re coming along like buses!’ Lacey said.
‘After the heartbreak we went through, it’s a miracle to fall pregnant so quickly.’
She previously spoke about her pregnancy with Dusty following the heartache of losing two babies, saying: ‘I can’t wait to nurture our baby – we’ve dreamed of having a family for so long. ‘When you’ve lost babies all you care about is the heartbeat – we’ve had about 12 scans.’
‘My whole world crumbled and I couldn’t understand it. I didn’t know anybody that had been through this. I didn’t understand why I felt so sad about something I’d never met.
‘I thought what did I do? You sort of think, was my steak not cooked properly or did I lift the box? You drive yourself insane about all these things you might have done.’
EastEnders continues on BBC One on Monday night at 8.05pm.
