I’m A Celebrity’s James McVey blasts campmates for ‘acting for the cameras’

James McVey has taken aim at his fellow campmates for "acting for the cameras" in a shock rant.

He and fellow jungle friend Harry Redknapp have got closer over the last couple of days, and when Nick Knowles left last night, things looked even more difficult for the quieter pair in the camp.

And tonight, as Emily, John and Fleur were messing around singing silly songs, James revealed quite a lot of what he thinks of his other campmates.

Harry said: “Do you know what, I don’t understand a f***ing thing you are talking about," but John reassured him, saying: “Can I tell you something Harry, we don’t know what we are talking about.”

In the Bush Telegraph, James said: “Harry and I are on the same wavelength. John, Emily and Fleur are very energetic, singing and dancing whereas Harry and I just sit in the background and have a little chat.”

Following this, he was seen talking to Harry in camp, as he said: “Now Nick has gone I can’t call it.”

Harry said: “I’ve got a feeling you are going to win it and I hope you do because you just get on with it.”

Then, in a sneaky move, he covered his microphone so as not to be heard, and said: “I don’t like to be mean but there’s quite a few actors, people who are acting, people are singing for camera and I’m just here like this is me, I don’t want to show off.

"It gets a bit frustrating sometimes.”

Harry nodded, adding: “When they talk about things they get up and sing and dance. Emily’s all this screaming.”

Agreeing, James added: “This show will be amazing for Emily and Fleur it will really help their careers. If it is us in the final, we’ll tick on and whatever happens, happens.”

Later on, James went on to boast about how much money he has made, though much of it seems to have been snatched from him by taxes.

He continued to Harry: "People don’t realise the money associated so for example our best year was when I was 19 the band made four million, now there’s four of us in the band and I pay 45% tax, 20% to our management and our record label takes 10% so in my best year ever I earned £250k and that’s the most I’ve ever earned in a year.

"Now I’m on 150k a year and so I can’t afford to get a really lovely car, I’ve got a second hand car that was like 30 grand and I traded my old one in for it, and I’m very happy but ten years ago there was a lot more money in the music industry.

"Now it’s difficult and unless you are one of the biggest people in the world, there’s not millions and millions.”

Harry replied: "You are great at what you do, very different to what I thought, very different to football.

"There are sh** footballers getting 80 grand a week. Half of them can’t play, it’s scary.”

The pair also shared how upset they were about Nick’s departure.

I’m A Celebrity airs every day at 9pm until Sunday’s final on ITV.
