Hollyoaks fans in tears as Brendan Brady returns to screens

Hollyoaks fans were left in tears as iconic character Brendan Brady (Emmett J Scanlan) returned to their screens, as the character was the primary focus of tonight’s instalment of Hollyoaks Favourites.

With production on Hollyoaks having halted amid the Coronavirus pandemic, the Channel 4 soap is now only airing new episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays in an effort to ensure that it remains on air for as long as possible.

The Wednesday, Thursday and Friday slots have therefore been occupied with Hollyoaks Favourites — a daily trip down memory lane which allows fans the opportunity to revisit some of the greatest instalments from days gone by.

Tonight’s episode — which originally aired all the way back in 2013 — featured beloved character Brendan.

In the celebrated episode, Brendan opened up to Ste (Kieron Richardson) about the abuse he suffered when he was a child.

With the character largely being one of the greatest to ever feature in the Channel 4 soap — or any soap, for that matter — it’s no surprise that fans were delighted at the prospect of seeing him in action once more, and many took to Twitter to celebrate the momentous occasion.
