Hollyoaks at last reveals outcome of Darren's kidnapping
The following article contains major spoilers for next week’s Hollyoaks episodes, which can now be viewed on All 4 in the form of a boxset.
Hollyoaks is yet again giving fans an early Christmas present this year by releasing all of its festive episodes first on Channel 4’s streaming service.
For the third year running, the serial drama will allow viewers to marathon-watch the upcoming episodes at any given time over the holiday period.
And with conflict and drama aplenty – not to mention the introduction of a new family – it’s safe to say this year’s Christmas offerings are nothing short of unmissable.
But for Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), this festive season proves to be a tough one.
The popular character was taken against his will several months ago, after he witnessed a hold up in a jewellery store. Ethan and the mysterious Maya (Ky Discala) have held him hostage in the Brass Bath hotel ever since.
Maya, who is part of a criminal family of gangsters, wants Darren disposed of, permanently. Ethan, however, has grown quite fond of him, and thus wants him to stay alive.
On Maya’s request, Ethan took Darren to a remote location earlier this month, and threatened to shoot him dead. But he was ultimately unable to do so, and thus returned him to the hotel.
Maya rocks up at the hotel in upcoming scenes, which can be viewed now on All 4, and she’s less than pleased to find out that Darren is still alive.
Darren, however, makes a run for it, and ends up back in the village in time for Charlie Dean’s (Charlie Behan) birthday party, much to Nancy’s (Jessica Fox) shock.
Nancy refuses to accept Darren’s explanation for where he’s been, but Ethan later rocks up in the village, and demands that Darren do a runner, otherwise Maya will kill him.
Darren is then tasked with telling Nancy that he has to leave once again, but resolves to stay put until after Christmas Day celebrations conclude. However, things take a turn when Ella Richardson (Erin Palmer) announces that she’s pregnant!
Unable to leave his family at such a time, he puts his foot down, telling Nancy that he will be there to support her no matter what, before he confronts Maya, pleading for her to let him off the hook so that he can stay and look after his family.
Shockingly, Maya agrees to leave him alone, remarking that she’s got big plans for the village and therefore she doesn’t want to get blood on her hands.
Darren is therefore a free man!
All of the Christmas and New Year episodes of Hollyoaks are now available to stream on All4.
