Holly Willoughby supports This Morning caller suffering miscarriage in lockdown
Holly Willoughby visibly teared up as the supported a This Morning viewer who called in to discuss suffering a miscarriage whilst in coronavirus self-isolation.
The Dancing on Ice presenter was fronting another call-in session with co-host Phillip Schofield and psychologist Emma Kenny when the heartbreaking phonecall came in.
Holly’s voice broke as she chatted with Sarah, whose name was changed for broadcast.
‘Oh, Sarah I’m so sorry I’ve just read the top line here,’ Holly began. ‘You are going through a horrible time. Are you OK to read this?’
Sarah then asked Holly to read out her question to Emma.
Holly continued: ‘You are with your partner, and you’re at home, and I’m so sorry but you are going through a miscarriage.
‘Obviously, you can’t see friends to support you through this and you’re finding it very hard. Are you OK?’
After assuring the presenters that she was fine to speak on-air, Sarah asked Emma for advice.
‘Even if you have a partner with you, you feel like it’s a very personal journey,’ Emma shared. ‘It’s really hard for people to understand what a massive grief and loss it is.
‘Just be aware that this is something really personal, you also need to reach out and talk to other people.’
As the call ended, Holly spoke once again to the viewer on the other end of the phone, saying: ‘Lots of love to you.’
