Holly Willoughby does U-turn and will face I’m A Celebrity Bushtucker Trial

Holly Willoughby has done a U-turn and will take part in a Bushtucker Trial as part of the climax of the I’m A Celebrity series.

The presenter has stood in for Ant McPartlin this year alongside Declan Donnelly, but insisted she would not do any trials before she flew out to Australia and is scared of many of the jungle bugs, snakes and spiders.

But she has now said yes to taking on the Cyclone where she will not have to worry about bugs as the trial consists of climbing up a hill carrying a giant foam star to a certain point whilst being hit by high pressure water cannons, gail force winds and giant balls.

All four contestants need to be in their correct positions on the hill at the same time to complete the trial.

A show source said: "It’s very unique as hosts don’t normally do trials. The only other time was when Ant and Dec did Cyclone for Text Santa one year.

"Holly was adamant that she would not be doing a trial either but since she has got out here things have gone so well and the ITV2 Extra Camp team managed to persuade her to take part. It is one of her favourite trials so she couldn’t say no.

"It will be the perfect end to a brilliant stint hosting the show with Dec which has gone down better than anyone could have dreamed of."

Holly will join Scarlett Moffatt, Joe Swash and Joel Dommett on ITV2’s Extra Camp to do the Cyclone on Saturday with the results screened that night at 10pm.

Holly attempted to do a Bushtucker trial on This Morning in mid-November when she put her hands into boxes to identify what was inside.

But even though it was quite a soft challenge she screamed a lot and Dec joked: "She was worse than Gillian McKeith! What the heck are we in for!?"

Asked what was your worst trial on the eve of the show starting this year, Holly said: "The eating one, I could never do it, I would come out with zero stars and let everyone down.

"I think if I look at a spider in a tank that’s absolutely fine but if one comes out of a tank or is on a celebrities back after a Bushtucker Trial then I’m not going to like that.

"I think I’m going to have a problem with smells also as Dec keeps telling me that cockroaches really stink. I’m going to be useless during the eating trial, I don’t even like it if someone eats with their mouth open.”

On the show itself she has been looking away during some trials as she struggles to cope.

I’m A Celebrity airs tonight on ITV at 9pm
