Holly and Phil branded ‘fake’ as pair ignore ‘feud’ rumours on ITV This Morning

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been branded "fake" by This Morning viewers.

The two presenters were back on the famous blue sofa on Monday (May 15) following reports that the pair were "barely speaking" away from the ITV show cameras.

They ignored the claims and continued to host the show without addressing the "feud" rumours.

Viewers took to their keyboards to address the "awkward" atmosphere between the pair.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "#ThisMorning how fake is this, wow couldn’t trust these two actors."

Another added: "This is cringe it feels awkward knowing theses two people don’t get along with each other. Fake friends #ThisMorning."

A third person posted: "Well this is awkward! All a bit dead behind the eyes with fake smiles."

While a fourth social media user said: "Haha too funny seeing the fake smiles."

It comes after Phillip issued a statement to The Sun on Thursday (May 11) stating: "As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends — as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

"Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her. The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.

"And Holly’s support throughout meant the world to me, as did the support of my bosses at ITV, my editor Martin Frizell and the whole This Morning family, including our amazing viewers.

"And of course, Holly has herself been ill with shingles."

An insider told the publication that a "devastated" Phillip phoned Holly after their rift was thrusted into the spotlight.

A source said: "Things have been difficult between them, but for it to play out so publicly was the last thing Phil was ever expecting.

"He has spoken with Holly over the phone about how this all played out. He’s devastated by it all and is incredibly upset."
