Hedgehog: Matt Baker to be revealed as The Masked Singer star in shock finale twist?

Hedgehog is just one of three The Masked Singer contestants who have made it through to the final round of the quirky ITV singing contest. With nine celebrities already having their identity exposed, the woodland creature, Octopus and Queen Bee will have to lift the lids of their disguises to reveal a famous face showcasing a secret vocal talent. One of these stars could be Matt Baker, 42, in one of the most surprising twists of the entire series.

Current frontrunners to be revealed as Hedgehog include theatre performer Michael Ball, 57, and comedian Jason Manford, 38.

The judging panel has been given numerous clues to lead them to these assumptions, including being most active at night and claiming Billy Connolly, 77, is their hero.

Viewers are convinced the celebrity is either an actor, singer, comedian or all three after decrypting the hints scattered throughout the series.

However, it seems bookmakers are throwing all manner of wildcards into the mix as the final approaches, so could Matt be taking part in the quirky reality show?

Ladbrokes bookmakers have The One Show presenter at 25/1 to be Hedgehog on their latest odds table, giving scope he is participating.

Given his role on the BBC evening programme and being a regular star on Countryfile, which airs on Sunday nights, he is certainly active or present on-screen during the latter part of the day.

Also, one of the biggest clues he could be showcasing his vocal talents is the costume itself, with the presenter often seen venturing in woodland on Countryfile.

Express.co.uk has contacted Matt’s representatives for comment on the speculation.

It would definitely be a wildcard with Michael the top contender to be taking part according to Ladbrokes latest odds table.

The theatre star is 5/1 to be Hedgehog, but hot favourites have been knocked from the top spot when the big reveal happens.

Viewers were convinced Unicorn was Dancing on Ice star John Barrowman, 52, but when the game was up, it was Scissor Sisters star Jake Shears, 41, who was unmasked.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati said: “Punters and viewers are still trying to guess who’s behind the five masked singers still standing but a couple of celebs could have already given the game away if the latest odds are anything to go by.”

  • The Masked Singer Hedgehog revealed: Who is the Hedgehog?

After the first set of performances on Saturday night, Fox was unveiled as hot favourite Denise Van Outen, who sat at 1/2 on Ladbrokes odd table ahead of the semi-final.

Monster was Grammy Award-winning artist Cee Lo Green, 44, who was the most likely star for the gigantic character at 1/3.

Following her exit from the show, Denise appeared on Loose Women earlier this week where she gave her guesses as to who could be the remaining contestants.

“I think Hedgehog, because he’s an amazing singer, could possibly be the actor Luke Evans, because he’s made an album recently,” she said, but viewers will have to wait until the final to make the discovery.

The Masked Singer concludes Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
