Grey’s Anatomy finished off its 16th season last month with Put On A Happy Face where Amelia Shepherd (played by Caterina Scorsone) had given birth to her and Link’s (Chris Carmack) son. A name had not been revealed for their newborn child as the show had to come to an untimely end since the ABC drama was unable to film the rest of the series before the country went into lockdown. The name of the couple’s newborn, however, was far from the only unanswered question in the series.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19.

Dr Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Dr Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) were due to get married.

They had planned a small ceremony and both were looking forward to their big day.

But with Teddy’s ex-boyfriend Dr Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) lurking in the background, fans could tell he was going to cause some trouble between the happy couple.

After arranging to meet Teddy, Tom insisted she and Owen were not right together and how she actually still should be with him.

Admitting she still had feelings for him, Teddy and Tom rekindled their romance in a passionate scene.

However, Teddy’s phone accidentally rung Owen while she was with Tom and in a voice message, he heard what she had been up to.

Following her betrayal, Owen called off the wedding much to Teddy’s upset.

She insisted it was her and Tom’s final goodbye and how she really wanted to be with Owen.

Nevertheless, fans did not find out if he would forgive Teddy before the season came to an end.

There is a clue, however, in Grey’s Anatomy spin-off series Station 19.

Will Owen forgive Teddy?

Station 19 season three aired its finale last week, Thursday, May 14 on CBS and, much like Teddy, Maya Bishop (Danielle Savre) was hoping for forgiveness.

She had cheated on girlfriend Cara DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) with Jack Gibson (Grey Damon) but remains adamant that it was a mistake.

In one scene, Teddy is with both Maya and Carina and is desperately trying to help the couple sort out their relationship and get them back on the right track.

So was this Teddy remaining hopeful for her and Owen’s own future, believing that a couple can make things work and wipe the slate clean or had he already forgiven her for sleeping with Tom at this point?

Opening up about the scene, showrunner Krista Vernoff explained how she wanted the scene to remain ambiguous.

Speaking to TV Line, Vernoff said: “There were four episodes of Grey’s that we could not shoot.

“So we’re gonna have to play those stories through on Grey’s in the fall.

“Some scenes, I had to go in and edit or change when I couldn’t air the [missing] Grey’s episodes.

Vernoff continued: “But what I liked about that [Maya/Carina/Teddy] scene, and the reason I allowed Teddy to remain a part of it, was that I felt like you couldn’t tell whether she had been forgiven or not.

“You could tell that she cared deeply about the subject, but you didn’t know what had happened in her own life since Episode 21 of Grey’s”.

In episode 21, Owen found out Teddy had cheated on him after listening to the X-rated voice message.

The episodes of Grey’s Anatomy which could not be filmed for season 16 will instead be included in the next series which has already been confirmed by ABC.

Grey’s Anatomy season 16 is available to watch on ABC.
