Gloria Hunniford was revealed as the second contestant to be eliminated from ITV’s The Masked Singer after judge Jonathan Ross uncovered her identity as Snow Leopard. Gloria opened up about how blown away by the secrecy that goes into the show and even revealed she had to wear a balaclava in order for her identity to remain hidden. Speaking about her future after the show, she touched on her position on the Loose Women panel and how she would recommend anyone going onto the show.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Gloria revealed she “immediately” said yes when she was approached to take part in the show.

Gloria revealed: “Well, all my life I have liked a challenge, and I immediately said yes, it took me all of about 10 seconds to say yes because I have always liked a challenge.

“It’s not like I was up to the mark of singing all the time, but I knew I could sharpen up enough to I hoped to get away with it.

“Afterwards, a lot of my family said, ‘Are you sure you’re up to doing it with the energy?’ and I went, ‘I think so!’

“I still want to work,” Gloria continued as she addressed her future on the small screen. “I love working and doing Loose Women and Rip Off Britain, which has been commissioned until 2024.

“I want to work, so it doesn’t put me off!

“I want to do it, and I enjoy my work, I have always been lucky enough to have the zest to do it, and I love a challenge.”

When asked about whether any of her Loose Women panellists would sign up for the show next year, Gloria said: “I think over the last couple of years they have had some big names because of Covid, more people have been around to do so.

“I don’t know how to make it onto the list, but I am very glad I did, but I would say to anybody just to do it because it is great fun!

“Somebody asked me if I was disappointed I wasn’t kept in, and I said there’s a tiny little bit of me might be saying I wanted to have one more go at it, but then I had the maximum amount of fun.

“And got everything out of it anyway, and so it didn’t bother me that I didn’t have to go back at 8am the next morning and do it all again in a different song, so I enjoyed the experience I had!”

After Gloria was announced as the celebrity under the Snow Leopard mask, she joined her Loose Women panellists Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, and Brenda Edwards to talk about her experience.

Welcoming her to the show wearing the Snow Leopard mask, Ruth exclaimed: “Now everybody knows, you are sneaky Gloria Hunniford, not a single one of us knew!”

Gloria laughed at the jibe and said: “The secrecy on the programme is phenomenal, honestly a million per cent I haven’t got a slightest clue.

“It was a bit of a challenge to do, I have to say, but I could never ever resist a challenge, and I still can’t, and why wouldn’t I?

“I used to be a bit of a singer, and then some kind man gave me a job as a broadcaster, and I liked that better so.”

Ruth praised her colleague and revealed: “I actually didn’t get from any of the clues that it was you, but the girls will know, I was watching on a catch-up thing, so I hadn’t seen.

“And I put in our WhatsApp group, ‘Is this Gloria!’ because it wasn’t until you started singing, up until then I hadn’t thought it was you at all.

“I just could hear the hint of your Irish accent! You were a beautiful snow leopard, congratulations, well done, we’re very proud of you.”

On Saturday night, Lionfish was then unmasked as none other than former Pop Idol winner Will Young.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV.
