Game of Thrones: Did Drogon eat Daenerys Targaryen? The truth exposed
Fans were left divided after the finale of Game of Thrones aired last year. One thing which did play on viewers’ minds was whether Daenerys Targaryen was eaten by her dragon Drogon after she was killed. Here is the truth about what happened afterwards.
Did Drogon eat Daenerys Targaryen?
The Game of Thrones finale proved to be a dramatic one when the Mother of Dragons (played by Emilia Clarke) was killed following her rampage around Westeros.
Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) ended up killing Daenerys to everyone’s shock to stop her from causing anymore destruction.
But after she was killed, her beloved dragon is seen looking at her body before it flies off with her towards the sea.
So when Drogon reached its destination, did it eat Daenerys?

A former showrunner from Game of Thrones has cleared the rumours up.
Speaking in a making-of documentary which features on season eight’s DVD, David Benioff confirms Drogon didn’t eat Dany’s body after all.
When Emilia Clarke shared her concerns over the theory, Benioff told her: “Drogon’s not going to eat you.
“He’s not a cat. Did you see how gently he was nudging you?”
Following the end of season eight, there were still plenty of issues that had not been addressed by the finale.
One of them is who Arya Stark’s (Maisie Williams) unknown target was on her hit list.
She was given a prophecy from Melisandra (Carice van Houten) about her shutting a pair of brown, blue, and green eyes forever.
The youngest Stark daughter mostly fulfilled that prediction when she closed the brown eyes of Walder Frey and then the blue eyes of the Night King, but what about the green?
Throughout most of season 8, most presumed the green eyes belonged to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), but the former Queen Mother was killed by the rubble of the Red Keep, which means Arya technically didn’t shut the green eyes of anyone.
Another unanswered question also related to Drogon and what would happen after the battle.

Drogon vanished with Daenerys’ body after she was killed by Jon.
However, we learn later on in the episode the last surviving dragon was spotted heading East of King’s landing and there is a theory his destination of choice is Old Valyria, the birthplace of the Targaryens.
And while Drogon is male, there is a myth in Westeros of dragons being able to change sex, meaning there’s still a possibility Drogon isn’t the last of his kind just yet, but could lay eggs to even more winged reptiles.
