Game of Thrones: Daenerys Targaryen’s secret sacrifice for Jon Snow revealed in detail
Game of Thrones fans were utterly stunned at the end of the eighth season. Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) brought the fandom to a standstill when he fatally stabbed his queen, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). After following the dragon queen for so many years, viewers were certain she would ultimately come out on top.
Unfortunately, that was not the case, and she was murdered, leaving Jon to be locked away.
However, their relationship didn’t start off so frosty, as they initially were completely enamoured with each other.
But in some ways things were not all as they seemed – according to the show’s costume designer Michele Clapton.
According to Michele, Daenerys’ outfit originally spoke of Daenerys’ sacrifice to be with Jon.

Speaking to TV Guide Michele spoke about the thick white coat Daenerys wore when she first began following Jon and his company.
She explained: “Initially it was about the idea that if she’s riding a dragon to the North, she should be warm.
“And then I decided that actually it’s the first time she’s performed a completely selfless task – because it’s usually for her own gain – and on this occasion, it was actually for her love.”
Daenerys, as fans know, has always been about preserving her personal brand of monarchy, and consistently gaining land and armies in her name.
And considering agreeing to take on the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) for Jon Snow, this was the first time she had ever done anything selfless.
Michele continued: “So, I loved this idea, as I developed this costume, that it’s almost [as if] she sees herself as this saviour, this angel.
“And so when she arrives and descends on this dragon, she is this sort of angel of mercy.
“I think it just said so much about her mental state at the time, how she saw herself.”

Obviously, this detail was never truly expressed in the show itself, but fans may have noticed how her demeanour changed when she came into contact with Jon and his people.
Meanwhile, fans recently found out the truth behind the death of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
The siblings were killed when the building they were in collapsed on them, killing them outright.
But when Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) later went to visit their bodies, viewers complained there was space in the room to get away from the falling rubble.

However, in the original scripts further details were given about the room that prevented them from escaping.
The script reads: “All of the skulls have been blackened and scorched by the extreme heat of the fires that raged for hours.”
This tidbit from the script proves the Lannister siblings were supposed to be trapped in the room – both from falling rubble and raging fires.
Unfortunately, however, this huge detail was left out of the show, and therefore looked like they were simply looking to be killed.
