Furious Rebekah Vardy files new papers to force Coleen Rooney into court straight away over Wagatha Christie row

REBEKAH Vardy has filed bombshell legal papers in a bid to haul Coleen Rooney to court immediately — and blow her Wagatha Christie case apart.

Angry Becky’s aggressive move comes because she believes Coleen is purposefully dragging her heels and wants her to "put up or shut up".

The session, later this year, will be the first time they face off in public.

Becky’s call for an interim hearing signals a major escalation in the row.

And it will see a judge finally rule on whether Becky, 38, was libelled when Coleen 34, accused her Instagram account of being the source of Press stories.

'PUT UP OR SHUT UP'

Becky’s demand comes after the Rooneys have so far failed to file a defence to her High Court claim first brought in June — with Coleen’s legal team asking for more time to form their case.

A source said: “Things have been rumbling on for ages, and costs spiralling too.

"This will mean that a judge can actually get to the crux of the case — and make those involved put up or shut up. It should mean things can finally get moving and dealt with quickly.

“This is a shot across the bows. It effectively says, ‘Come on, stop mucking about, let’s get on with this’.

"It certainly isn’t what Coleen will want. It puts her on the back foot.”

The move will also show whether Coleen is able to defend the case.

If the judge concludes she was specifically blaming Becky she will have to go to court and prove the stories came directly from her rival.

If they believe that Coleen meant Becky’s account was responsible she will have to back it up with evidence.

Coleen, who has four boys with Derby County star Wayne, and Becky, wed to Leicester City’s Jamie, were once good pals at England matches.

But in October Coleen claimed on social media that a pal was leaking stories.

Coleen said she posted false stories via her Instagram account with restricted access to see if they appeared in the media.

All the stories which were subsequently printed in The Sun were put to Coleen’s reps for comment.

She then said the fake stories had been viewed by only one person, and ended dramatically: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Becky has always denied being the source of any stories and says others had access to her Instagram account.
