Friends: ‘Emma would be in therapy’ Showrunners give 2019 update on Ross and Rachel
Friends fans will know the series ended on a high when Rachel Green (played by Jennifer Aniston) finally got off the plane to stay in the US and build a life with Ross Geller (David Schwimmer). The pair finally got back together for what looked to be for good this time. However, fans were left to guess how Ross and Rachel would settle into family life with baby Emma when the show ended with the friends all going their separate ways.
Now, the showrunners have shared a few key updates with fans, revealing something shocking about baby Emma.
Would Ross and Rachel have stayed together?
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Friends creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman spoke out about what 2019 would bring for Ross and Rachel.
It seems to be the biggest question on fans lips to this day as creator Marta Kauffman revealed her rabbi once stopped her in a car park demanding to know what happened to the couple.

However, it seems the rabbi had nothing to worry about as creator Marta Kauffman revealed they would still be together.
“I think they would still be together,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
However, the creator also shared a glimpse into grown up Emma’s life.
She added: “And as David Crane said, Emma would be in therapy.”
Moreover, Rachel Green star herself backed the idea the pair would still be together in an interview with NBC News earlier this year.
Jennifer Aniston started: “Yes. Absolutely.
“Emma’s grown up, she’s in college? High school? Let’s say junior high.”
However, despite showrunners being happy with the way Ross and Rachel ended things back in the finale, the showrunners revealed there were some episodes they regret.

Speaking on a panel at the Tribeca TV Festival, Kauffman revealed she wasn’t a fan of the stalker storyline in the season three episode titled The One with the Jam.
Fans of the series will remember Phoebe Buffay (played by Lisa Kudrow) falling for a man named Malcom (David Arquette) who had been stalking her twin Ursula.
Speaking at the event, the showrunner simply revealed “we did a lot of rewriting on that to make it work”.
This isn’t the only episode that had showrunners scratching their heads as she also has regrets about The One With the Chicken Pox.
The episode sees Phoebe get chicken pox just as her later love interest Ryan (Charlie Sheen) arrived back from the navy.
Meanwhile, co-creator David Crane revealed that despite forgetting a lot of the specific storylines, he does occasionally question his judgment when rewatching old videos.
He admitted to wondering “Wow, really? We went with that?” when stumbling across particular episodes.
