Emmerdale spoilers: Pete Barton brutally killed by Cain Dingle in devastating accident?

Emmerdale viewers are going to be saying goodbye to Pete Barton in upcoming months as the actor, Anthony Quinlan has decided to leave the soaps according to reports. But how will his exit play out on screen? 

The farmer is currently embroiled in Moira Barton’s (played by Natalie J. Robb) affair drama with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). 

Spoilers have revealed how Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) will find out about his wife’s infidelity this autumn as the storyline reaches its climax. 

And in the explosive episodes, the bad boy mechanic is undoubtably going to get revenge, but could Pete be the one to lose his life amid the chaos? 

In scenes which aired last week, Pete found out about Moira and Nate sleeping together after he found his boss’ phone lying around with a flirty text message from Nate lingering on the screen.

After confronting the pair of them, Moira decided it would be best to sit down and have a heart to heart with Pete where she pleaded with him to keep her affair a secret. 

While he tried to threaten her and tell her the truth would come out eventually, Moira seemed adamant about not telling Cain. 

But what will happen to Pete if Cain finds out that he knew about the affair and didn’t tell him? 

Cain has a reputation for being a ruthless villain and while he hasn’t killed anyone with his bare hands, could Pete be his first murder? 

There is no doubt Cain’s temper can get the better of him, as well as him not knowing his own strength.

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) was a fine example of the latter when Cain lived in torment for many months thinking his single punch had killed the businessman. 

Who knows what he will do when he finds out the love of his life has been sleeping with a younger hunkier farmer right underneath his nose. 

Pete’s death would obviously tie in with Anthony’s plan to leave the soap, but would the writers be so brutal and choose to kill off another Barton?

Fans took to Twitter to speculate about Pete’s fate and one said: “So that’s Pete dying in the October Emmerdale big week this year then! Nate’s out to ruin Cain and won’t let anyone get in his way. Not falling for all this ‘he hasn’t filmed his last scenes yet’ about @AnthonyQuinny #HateNate #Emmerdale @emmerdale.” 

“Cain will kill Nate during the big week! #Emmerdale,” someone else wrote. 

Emmerdale and Anthony have not yet confirmed to Express.co.uk he is leaving the soap for definite

Elsewhere in the village, Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) chance of being a father to Millie could be thwarted. 

He is currently embroiled in a paternity drama with Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) and in recent scenes he has demanded the truth. 

But it seems the mother-of-one is doing everything she can to keep the businessman at arms length and in the dark. 

However, it could be Millie who holds all the power.
