Emmerdale paedophile Maya Stepney is finally arrested – but it’s not over yet

Maya Stepney was finally arrested on tonight's Emmerdale after a dramatic showdown with David Metcalfe.

The paedophile teacher got her comeuppance after months of grooming and abusing pupil Jacob Gallagher.

Maya was waiting for for the teenager in the cricket pavilion, so got a very unwelcome surprise when her ex-boyfriend David rocked up.

When David stopped her from leaving, Maya started to squirm under questioning and apologised that they relationship "went wrong".

Seething David claimed the police were on their way and Maya was going nowhere until she told him everything.

With nowhere left to run, desperate Maya tried to worm her way out of trouble again.

On her relationship with her pupil, she said: "Don't make it sound so seedy. We just had a connection like anyone does."

Disgusted David called Maya a "paedophile" and said she made him feel "sick".

Hitting back, Maya replied: "I'm not a pervert David. I love him and he loves him back."

When David claimed she would not get away with it, evil Maya turned the tables with a horrific threat.

Speaking about being sent to prison, she said: "The minute I’m out I will find Jacob and we will go away together. You’ll lose him forever."

The manipulative teacher tried to make a grubby deal with David and said she would never contact his son again if he let her go.

When he refused, she nastily said: "Local shopkeeper loses girlfriend to teenage son. How humiliating. You couldn't cope. The embarrassment. It would send you under."

While their dramatic showdown was going on, Jacob was lashing out at Leyla, Tracy and Priya after rumbling their plan.

Maya managed to push past David but was quickly surrounded by the police, who showed up just in time.

Jacob was frantically running towards the cricket pavilion when he saw his groomer being arrested.

Will Maya finally be sent down for her crimes?

Emmerdale viewers were rejoicing, but are not sure if it's over yet.

One fan said: "Finally Maya’s been arrested, but is this the end????"

"This story is far from over. Will be a while till justice is done, also still got sulky Jacob to deal with for another year or so," added another.

A third said: "At last. Justice will be served. Hopefully"
