Ed Sheeran watches on as wife Cherry Seaborn takes dramatic tumble during fiery hockey match – The Sun

SUPERSTAR Ed Sheeran plays the supportive hubby to wife Cherry Seaborn — who was injured playing hockey as he watched on from the sidelines.

The singer, 28, looked aghast as his risk assessor missus, 27, took a dramatic tumble on Saturday representing her team the Harleston Magpies against Exeter’s Isca hockey club.

Cherry was left with bandaged, bloodied knees by the end of the competitive game, which saw her team win 1-0.

An onlooker said: “It was a closely fought game and while Cherry was injured she could be seen smiling and laughing by the end and was having a laugh together as they headed home.”

Cherry has been a keen hockey player since attending Durham university.

The couple married in secret shortly before Christmas, and later marked the nuptials with a lavish bash near to their Norfolk estate this summer.

The singing superstar hosted the ceremony at his country estate in Suffolk, despite having his plans to build a wedding chapel on site rejected.

Talking about the wedding, a source explained: "It was very quiet – just Ed's oldest school pals, limited family and the priest.

“There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any royals or pop star pals. He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding.

“It’s amazing that he’s the biggest pop star in the world but he was just able to quietly slide off and wed.

“Neither of them were that fussed about making a big deal about it. Cherry just wanted to get it out of the way without any problems or intrusions.”

Insiders say Ed always had a crush on Cherry, but their chances of romance were cruelly torpedoed when she left to do a masters at University in America.

She settled in well at the prestigious school, leading her hockey team to the finals of the British University Championships two years in a row in 2012 and 2013.

However, even after university, Cherry didn't return home, bagging a job on New York's cut-throat Wall Street, working for accounting giant Deloitte.

It wasn't until 2015 that Ed and Cherry are thought to have begun dating, when they were spotted kissing in a snap shared by Ed's pal Taylor Swift after she'd been to watch a string of his shows.

Ed has previously spoken out about starting a family with Cherry, and even hinted he may stop making music when the couple have kids. He told the Star: “My ambition is going to go to zero as soon as I have kids.
