EastEnders spoilers: Phil Mitchell’s grim murder plan for Sharon exposed in cryptic clue?

EastEnders’ biggest storyline is going to explode on this Christmas when Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden) confronts his wife Sharon Mitchell’s (Leitia Dean) about the biological identity of the baby she is carrying. While initially a little apprehensive about becoming a father once more, Phil soon became overjoyed when Sharon shared the good news. Flash forward to present day, and the Walford hardman has just found out his wife has slept with someone, therefore the baby she is carrying may not be Phils.

In scenes which aired last night, BBC One viewers tuned in to see Phil attack and hold Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) hostage, intent on killing him.

But viewers know Phil has got the wrong man; Jack has not slept with Sharon, it was Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) who has been having a liaison with Sharon.

Now, after several menacing words were spat out by Phil, fans are beginning to worried about Sharon’s saftey.

Could Sharon meet a grisly death this Christmas?

While Jack was lying bloodied and fearful for his life on the cold garage, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and Keanu burst into the Archers.

Confused about what was going on, Phil explained: “This is what happens to people when they try to take me for a mug,” in reference to the beating the policeman had received.

Taking out a lighter, Phil lit up and when he was about to drop it on top of Jack, his son intervened.

Pushing him back, Ben shouted “Dad” before launching himself at Phil.

“No! I am stopping you from burning this place up,” Ben argued and viewers saw Keanu drop to the floor and help Jack.

“He needs to know that he can’t get away from it!” Phil raged but Ben said: “Not like this, we agreed not like this.”

“Just get me out of here,” Jack muttered to Keanu: “He’s lost the plot.”

Trying to convince him there are other ways to get revenge, Ben explained: “You will make him pay, there are other ways to make him I swear.”

In a later scene, Jack was seen sitting tied to a chair and Phil was branding a iron weapon around.

“I bet you’ve been having a right old laugh at me! Out there, seeing me everyday, knowing what you’ve done,” Phil shouted.

“I haven’t done anything,” Jack begged but it wasn’t enough to change Phil’s mind, instead he went and loaded a gun.

“This is what happens to people when they try to take me for a mug,” he warned and the episode then ended.

With Phil issuing these sorts of threats to Jack, how is he going to react when he confronts Sharon? Will she receive the same fate?

A sneak preview of the showdown between Sharon and Phil has been revealed by the BBC in a teaser clip for Christmas Day.

“Worth it? Was he?” Phil is seen hollering at Sharon, before picking up a chair and throwing it across the room.

A few moments later, Phil is sitting in the Queen Vic with Ben and daughter Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) and he comments: “It’s done, you’re the only ones I can trust.”

But what is done? Is Phil referring to Sharon’s murder?

Taking to Twitter to comment, one said: “Bloody hell if Phil is doing this to the wrong person what’s he going to do with keanu and Sharon come Christmas Day #EastEnders.”

If Phil hurts Sharon I’ll kill him. #EastEnders,” someone else wrote.

Another added: “OH PHIL f**k off!! you cheated too. Did sharon act like that. DONT YOU DARE HURT OUR QUEEN!! #EastEnders.”

While someone else tweeted: “Phil is on the warpath & Sharon & Keanu are in danger now.”

If Phil could do that to Jack, imagine what he could do to Keanu when he finds out  #EastEnders,” a viewer suggested in reference to when Phil finds out it was Keanu who is the father of his wife’s baby.

EastEnders returns tomorrow evening at 7.30pm on BBC One.
