EastEnders spoilers: Phil Mitchell embroiled in explosive Christmas storyline? Here’s how
EastEnders always brings a huge storyline out for the infamous Christmas episodes. With huge ratings each year, the Christmas Day instalment usually involves someone being killed off, or a huge revelation being revealed. This year could indeed surround the newest couple in Albert Square: Callum Highway (played by Tony Clay) and Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) – as teased earlier this week by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
As Callum comes to terms with his new found relationship, he has been seen by viewers sending coy text messages to Ben.
Earlier this week fans noticed a strange interaction between Callum and Ben’s father, Phil, in the cafe.
As Callum was messaging Ben he noticed Phil and sheepishly walked away from his new father-in-law.
Phil looked bemused towards Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) and commented: “Can’t wait for the family Christmas.”

While this may have seemed like a throwaway comment, fans of the show believe this is a huge hint towards this year’s bout of Christmas drama.
Dedicated viewers began posting their theories on Twitter, explaining what the remark may have been alluding to.
One wrote: “Did @MrPhilMitchell just hint at a #Ballum filled Christmas?”
Another said: “A Mitchell family Christmas with Callum, bring it on!”
While another chimed in to add: “OMFG it’s finally happening Callum’s adorable and cute smile when he read the text from Ben and yes Phil we can’t wait for the family Christmas either so excited.”
One viewer even claimed the comments have something to do with Sharon’s illicit child with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
They explained: “Phil saying ‘can’t wait for the family Christmas’ foreshadowing him finding out about ‘Sheanu’ and the baby not being his?”
With Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) supposedly hiding a secret about Callum, and Sharon hiding a huge secret from Phil, the Mitchell household will certainly be a busy place this year.
But will all members of the family make it out alive as the dramatic end to the year comes to Walford?
Meanwhile, it looks like Ben is going to start getting up to no good once again in the coming weeks.
After his sordid affair with Callum just before his wedding to Whitney, fans thought he was going to turn over a new leaf.
But it looks like coming episodes are going to see him engaging in dodgy car jobs, and flashing some cash.

It is as of yet uncertain where Ben is getting the money or the intel for these antics, but whatever is going on, it cannot be good.
With such an intricately illegal past behind him, Ben is just one mistake from being put away for good.
And if he manages to keep his head out of prison, he will still have to avoid getting involved with the wrong people from the criminal underworld.
EastEnders returns Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
