EastEnders: Ruby Allen's downfall and 'exit' storyline revealed
EASTENDERS has teased Ruby Allen’s downfall as she finally confesses everything to her husband Martin Fowler next week.
The club owner – who is played by Louisa Lytton – framed Stacey Slater for her miscarriage and got her sent to prison earlier this year. Here’s the lowdown on her exit…
What is Ruby Allen’s exit storyline?
Ruby seals her own fate next week when she reports Jean Slater’s drugs farm to the police in an attempt to stop her telling Martin about her lies.
However, when Martin realises that Ruby was the one who dropped Jean in it, he’s immediately suspicious and secretly visits his ex-wife Stacey in prison.
Stacey is shocked when Martin explains what Ruby has done and threatens to kill her.
Meanwhile, a solicitor tries to get more information from Jean, pushing her to reveal who put her in touch with the drug dealer if she wants any chance to walk free.
Jean tells them she’s ready to reveal who it was, but will she get revenge against Ruby?
Later in the week, Martin confronts Ruby about why she’s been lying to him and she’s forced to come clean and admit that she got Stacey sent down.
EastEnders bosses are yet to confirm the details of Ruby’s exit, but Kate Oates recently teased that it wasn’t going to be pretty.
Speaking to The Sun and other media, she revealed: “So we’ve got Ruby, who Jean is intent on bringing down and clearing Stacey’s name.
“Ruby is going to come to a slightly sticky end. That means we’ve also got Stacey’s return, who has a new friend in tow.”
When is Ruby Allen leaving?
Louisa Lytton’s exit scenes are set to air this autumn.
The actress revealed that she had finished filming as Ruby at the end of July.
She posted on Instagram at the time: ‘I’ve finally finished work, which is so surreal. I’ve been told it’s my time to switch off and relax."
Why is Louisa Lytton leaving EastEnders?
The soap star is leaving her role as Ruby to head on maternity leave.
Louisa announced back in March 2021 that she’s expecting her first child with fiancé Ben Bhanvra.
Talking about whether she plans to return to Walford, she revealed on the podcast Made by Mammas in July: "I’m at home being a mum. I’m doing the thing I’ve wanted the most in life, so I don’t think I’ll be in a rush to go back to work.
"But then, at the same time, I don’t know because that is who I am. So will I have that moment of, 'I need a bit more of myself back again?"
"I’m gonna stay home, give it a year, I think, of me not working. But if I decide to go back before or after, we’ll work it out from there," she said.
Following her pregnancy announcement back in March, Louisa revealed she asked bosses for Ruby’s endometriosis and fertility storyline to “continue to play out”, despite expecting a child in real life.
Appearing on Loose Women at the time, she revealed: "It was definitely a strange time," she admitted. "I sort of found out I was pregnant and knew I was going back to work to film.
"So I guess I was more stressed than I would have been, just because naturally it was at the forefront of my mind, because that's the storyline I was playing out.
“But I told the bosses quite early on, I just said, 'This endometriosis storyline is really important to me and I really want it to continue to play out. I don't want it to be put on hold because of my situation.”
