EastEnders’ Gray ‘will go to any lengths’ to keep abused wife Chantelle ‘under his control’ warns Toby-Alexander Smith – The Sun

EASTENDERS star Toby-Alexander Smith has warned that evil Gray Atkins "will go to any lengths" to keep abused wife Chantelle "under his control".

Viewers have been left horrified by the disturbing storyline surrounding their relationship in recent months, and it doesn't sound like it'll be easing up any time soon.

The paranoid character has installed a tracking device on his car to keep tabs on his wife.

Unaware that Ben Mitchell stole the vehicle from The Arches for a trip to Stratford, Gray becomes convinced that the mystery journey is proof Chantelle is having an affair with boss Kheerat Panesar.

The 30-year-old actor explained: "His paranoia is definitely escalating and he's certainly on the edge. He'll go to any lengths to keep Chantelle under his control."

Toby-Alexander added to Digital Spy: "He's certainly very suspicious of Chantelle and what's going on at the call centre.

"His mind jumps to the conclusion that she's having an affair with Kheerat and he starts accusing her over that."

This week, fans will see Whitney try and kiss Gray as he builds her defence case for killing Leo King earlier this year.

Toby-Alexander has insisted that Gray will keep things "strictly professional" with his client – but he's "enjoying" having his ego massaged.

He continued: "He's aware that Chantelle and Whitney are close and now he's got to have that conversation with Chantelle.

"It's made the case more personal than he would have liked."

Last month, fans claimed that they'd spotted a "clue" that Chantelle will be killed by Gray in the coming weeks.

Eagle-eyed viewers believe that 27-year-old actress Jessica Plummer is "preparing to leave" the BBC One soap after spotting that she recently got new headshots and she has been in the show for 12 months.

Chantelle and Gray joined EastEnders last year, with she the oldest of Karen Taylor's children.

While they appear to be the perfect couple, viewers soon learned that behind closed doors Gray is physically abusive – and he has left Chantelle needed hospital attention on more than one occasion.

The evil character has even raped his wife and broken her arm, with viewers desperate for the disturbing storyline to come to an end.
