EastEnders fans were left very distracted as Kat Slater found the knife Tommy Salter used to stab bully Sid as there was one glaring continuity error.

Albert Square's Kat Slater – played by Jessie Wallace for more than two decades – has been at her wit's end with Tommy's reckless behaviour in recent soap scenes.

As Kat is unaware that her son is being bullied at school, she calmly confronts him and he confesses what's happening.

Earlier in the episode, Tommy took the bladed object out of his school bag but quickly shoved it back in the rucksack moments before his mum entered the living room.

Despite Tommy accidentally stabbing bully Sid with a kitchen knife last week, fans were baffled as to how they were no traces of blood.

One wrote: "Where's the blood on the knife? #Eastenders."

Another posted: "No blood on the knife? Seems unlikely as that bully was bleeding."

A third added: "The Deadly butter knife had no blood on it…"

Other fans urged Tommy to get rid of the knife immediately instead of keeping it in the house.

One wrote: "Tommy, you better hide that knife #EastEnders."

Another penned: "Tommy needs a better hiding place for that knife #EastEnders."

In recent nail-biting scenes, Lily had lied to the police and gave Tommy an alibi, but mum Stacey was convinced that her daughter wasn't telling the truth and informed Kat.

Fearing the worst, Kat handed her son over to Jack as she was determined to do the right thing.

Tommy looked petrified, but his mum reassured him that she would be there every step of the way.

BBC viewers found it mind blowing that Kat had handed her son over to the police.

One wrote: "OMG can't believe Kat actually called the Police on her own Son seriously? Poor Tommy. What about that other kid that was recording the whole thing? Probably won't come for as it shows Tommy was just defending himself."

Another posted: "That must have been so hard for Kat to do."

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
