Denise Welch, 62, shows off her weight loss in a cut-out swimsuit and says maintaining figure isn't about being 'skinny'
DENISE Welch left fans open-mouthed as she shared a stunning swimsuit pic that showed off her two stone weight loss.
The Loose Women star, 62, told how her lifestyle change has left her healthier and happier seven years after developing a bad food addiction.
In the throwback shot taken in Barbados last Christmas, Denise was tanned and lean as she posed with her hands on her hips in the plunging swimwear.
She wrote: "7 yrs ago I had gained over 2stone as a result of giving up alcohol and swapped it for bad food!! Addicts often replace one addiction for another.
"I felt unhealthy, bloated, breathless and my knees and back ached. I started @lighterlife and lost 2st in 2 mths. I’ve maintained ever since and it changed my relationship with food."
Denise is an advocate for Lighter Life low-calorie meal plans that she credits with helping her drop pounds.
She continued: "In these times when we don’t have much control over certain things, we can control what we eat and when we eat it. @lighterlife is having huge success with reversing type 2 diabetes and in helping people who are obese.
"I’ve seen lives change and therefore families lives change. It’s not about being skinny, it’s about stopping the crooked thinking and we need help to do that.
"You can lose a stone a month with the guidance of a mentor and make choices you’ll never regret. Emotional eating is understandable in uncertain times but there is help out there."
The Hollyoaks actress lost two stone in nine weeks on the brand's Total plan, before her wedding to husband Lincoln Townley.
She then maintained her weight loss by following the Fast plan.
Denise, who went from a size 16 to a size 12, previously claimed to have also seen improvements in her snoring, acid reflux and osteoarthritis since losing weight.
And her fans think she looks great, with one commenting: "Omg! You look amazing ❤️❤️."
