Death in Paradise’s Detective Inspector Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little) was working closely alongside Detective Sergeant Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) during the last season of the BBC drama. The pair were tasked with solving a mix of murders and ended up developing a real bond. Series 10 ended on a cliffhanger which has left viewers desperate to know whether Neville will tell Florence he loves her. However, could Neville soon be left heartbroken if his romantic proposal is rejected?

The BBC confirmed it would be airing a Christmas special of the popular series earlier this year.

During the one-off episode, Neville prepares to head to Manchester to spend the holiday with his family.

But his plans are abruptly changed when a billionaire shipping magnate dies in mysterious circumstances.

However, the ending of season 10 saw Catherine Bordey (Élizabeth Bourgine) urging Neville to finally admit his feelings for Florence and he plucked up the courage to go to her house.

The final scene teased Neville was about to tell Florence his feelings for her as he said: “What I wanted to say was…”

Fans were left dying to know what Neville was planning on saying to Florence and they hope it will be revealed in the festive special.

Neville actor Ralf teased viewers about the upcoming storyline to Express.co.uk and other publications back in December 2020.

Speaking about his character’s romance with Florence, Ralf explained: “He is absolutely enchanted by this very beautiful, very charming, charismatic, warm and generous character.

“And, you know, he finds himself very much drawn to her. Where that will go in the series and in future series is anybody’s guess but yes, he’s certainly very taken with her.

“Those two have a real connection in this series and hopefully we’ll get to see where that goes.

“He hasn’t managed to actually do anything about it yet, but we’ll see.”

Frustrated fans will have to wait and see if a Death in Paradise wedding will be on the cards for Florence and Neville in upcoming scenes.

If Florence turns Neville down, will she end up staying in France and leaving her colleagues to solve crimes across the Atlantic without her?
