Death in Paradise: BBC announces season 9 guest stars ahead of new detective launch
Death In Paradise has confirmed its season nine guests including a familiar face from Albert Square who is to head to the fictional island of Saint Marie.
Viewers are aware that Ralf Little will make his way to the tropical setting as new lead detective, Neville Parker.
He will play a detective from Manchester who will take over from Ardal O’Hanlon to try to solve the mysterious murders taking place in the fictional Caribbean island.
Although it is yet to be confirmed how actor Ardal will make his exit, it may have something to do with a former EastEnders actress.
Nina Wadia who is best known to play hard working Zainab Masood on the BBC soap has been confirmed to star on the drama when it returns in 2020.

She will take the role of Anna. On it’s official Twitter page, the mystery drama teased Anna’s encounter with Jack, played by Ardal.
It said: “Nina Wadia will join Death in Paradise as Anna! Will an encounter with D.I Jack Mooney lead to new things on the horizon? Tune in to an all-new series coming to @BBCOne early next year to find out! #Deathinparadise.”
It turns out that Nina is not the only EastEnders star to feature on the BBC drama.
Adrian Edmondson who played Daniel Cook as a cancer patient and Jean Slater’s (Gillian Wright) love interest will play witness Charles Crabtree in the series’ first episode.
Fans have already come up with their theories of how the events will unfold between Anna and Jack.
One fan tweeted: “Is this the lady who will capture Jack’s heart and they will head off into the sunset together.”
Another commented: “think it’s about time Jack deserves happiness/finds love with another character.
“This could end up being similar to Humphreys’ storyline with Martha. Wouldn’t like to see them kill off Jack in the next series.”
A third commented: “Something tells me that she will steal Jack’s heart and head back to London with him.”
Ralf spoke about his new role on Death In Paradise, saying in a statement: “It took less than 0.005 seconds to say yes to playing the new DI! How could I not?”
Speaking about Ardal’s exit, the actor said “Ardal has been wonderful in the last few series and to follow in his footsteps in a place as idyllic as Guadeloupe was a great honour and a dream come true.
“It is a joy to play Neville and I can’t wait for viewers to see him in Paradise this series.”
