David Walliams and Matt Lucas 'offered £3million by Netflix' for Little Britain
Netflix is said to have offered David Walliams and Matt Lucas £3million for their Little Britain reboot.
Just recently, the duo reunited and teased that they were working on a new project together,
And it looks as though the streaming network is all ears, and reportedly got on board with the potential new show and offered up a whopping £3million.
Chatting to The Sun, a source claimed: ‘Netflix have set up phone meetings next week with David and Matt.
‘The offer they are making is more than double the BBC could make. It’d be a package of well over a million each.
‘David and Matt don’t need the cash but bosses at Netflix know they are a more viable option for the brand.’
Fans had been expecting the show to return to the BBC after it first aired on the channel back in 2003, which could still be the case, as the insider continued to tell the publication that the comedians will give the BBC ‘due consideration’.
Back in January this year, David confirmed the show would be making its much-needed comeback after rekindling his friendship with Matt.
‘I would say there will definitely be some more Little Britain coming,’ the father-of-one revealed: ‘I can’t say when exactly but at the right time and place. It was fun coming back for radio because that’s where we started.’
He continued: ‘We had to put it together quite quickly as it was about Brexit. Plus no one expected us to come back on the radio. You would have expected Comic Relief or a big live tour. The reaction was great, which was encouraging.’
And it doesn’t stop there, as the comedian said they could even work on a brand new project together.
Matt and I have been getting lots of offers to do more things together again,’ he teased: ‘We just need to decide whether it is revisiting something we’ve already done or working on something brand new or doing both those things.’
At the end of last year, the pair held a Little Britain meeting, with the Britain’s Got Talent star dishing up all the gossip when appearing on Lorraine.
He said: ‘We were having dinner last night discussing it. There are lots of different ways we want to work together make people laugh, it’s working out what we want to do.’
When the host quizzed him over the noughties show, he added: ‘We might do that, we might do something else.
‘[Matt] has been in America and now he’s back so I’m just enjoying spending time with him.’
Metro.co.uk has reached out to both Matt and David as well as Netflix for further comment.
