Teasing the first episode tonight, Jack and Dani spoke about the highs and lows of their romance in the months after Love Island.

And Dani has revealed that getting their dog Sandy was the "biggest compromise" she had to make for Jack.

"He just really wanted a dog so I went with it," she explained. "It’s the biggest compromise I’ve made – before that compromising was just like ‘what takeaway shall we get?’ – but she is adorable."

Meanwhile Jack said: "I’ve always been a dog owner, so I was like a duck to water. Dani never wanted one so I had to convince her. Which was why she took full control of the name.

"I didn’t stop going on until I got my own way. I kept saying ‘wouldn’t it be so nice.’"

He also revealed that life had been "intense" since they won Love Island in the summer.

"It’s been nonstop," Jack said. "I thought I worked fairly hard before, but now I get up earlier than I’ve ever got up. Sometimes it can be overwhelming but it’s been incredible so far."

"It’s changed my life for the better," Dani agreed. "The only thing I miss from before is the privacy. "

The pair also addressed the rough patches in their relationship, which saw them suffer a shock split in November.

Dani explained: "In the outside world you have a job to wake up to and everything hits you like a lightning bolt. You’re learning more about each other and you’re also dealing with the life you live now.

"It’s not a normal relationship anymore, it’s a very public one and you’re also trying to figure out what you want to be. It’s about keeping the right balance."

Asked what the highest point had been since they left the show, both said the opportunities they had received.

But the most difficult thing is that "everyone has an opinion on the relationship".

"The fact that every person has an opinion on your relationship, that’s the hardest thing," Jack said. "Before when you’ve been in a relationship, no one cares. Now you can do anything and thousands of people have something to say about it."
