Dancing On Ice’s Lucrezia Millarini wants a ‘Gemma Collins’ moment on the show – but is scared of smashing her face on the ice – The Sun

DANCING on Ice star Lucrezia Millarini wants a 'Gemma Collins moment' on the show –  but she's not sure she wants to break the ice and go hurtling face first like the Towie legend.

The stunning ITN journalist will swap the newsroom for the ice rink in January where she will battle it out with the likes of Michael Barrymore and Maura Higgins to win the 2020 series.

Lucrezia, 43, is longing for a 'GC moment' to break the internet like the Towie legend –  but without the injuries Gemma had when she went hurtling across the ice while skating with her pro partner Matt Evers.

In an exclusive chat with the Sun Online, she said: "We all want a GC moment in our own way.

"But not that moment. It was great. Good on her for doing it. You know what, I'll never laugh at anyone for falling over  because that's bad karma.

"We are all probably going to fall over at some point it's a given. It's going to happen. Hopefully not during the live performances though."

Dancing on Ice fans were stunned after Gemma suffered a horror fall during a live show in January.

The reality TV star fell flat on her face during her performance to Celina Dion's It's All Coming Back to Me Now,  before jumping straight back up and winning her highest score from the judges.

She suffered painful knee injuries and was in a wheelchair for a few days.

She was back stronger than ever the following week and the video went viral  –  even making Gemma and Matt household names in LA after fans of the show recognised them from Gemma's fall.

Lucrezia spoke about the moment she got snapped up for the hit ITV show.

She said: "I was actually at a friend's wedding in the summer and I got a call from my agent letting me know it's happening. She said: 'You'd better get your skates on.'

"As soon as the official announcement went up I was actually in a meeting at work and my phone just started to go crazy.

"My work colleagues have been very supportive. They thought it was funny to do an announcement live on air. So they presented me with a pair of padded knickers. Bum support –  they thought I might fall over and need it. So cheers guys. Not very sexy."

Lucrezia will be fan-girling over Maura Higgins from Love Island too.

She said: "I've got so many people coming up to me and going 'OMG, Maura is doing it.' So yes, I'll make friends with Maura from Love Island so my friends can live vicariously through that.

"I'm very excited to be meeting H from Steps, he'd be fun. I'm hoping he's going to be teaching me some dance moves.

"Lisa George from Corrie will be amazing, and Michael Barrymore –  well he's a TV legend. He's going to be making a TV comeback so it will be really great talking to him."

Meanwhile Dancing On Ice has confirmed Trisha Goddard as the final contestant to join the 2020 line-up as she admitted she signed up after meeting one of the professionals while drunk.

The 61-year-old TV veteran signed on the dotted line last week after being in talks for months.

Though she's one of the older contestants, Trisha made it clear that she is more than capable on the ice.

She told Good Morning Britain: "I like physical activity every day. I bike ride, I weight train, I learnt to ski at 37, how to roller blade at 42, and running at 42. And I'm 62 in December."

This year sees John Barrowman join Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo on the panel.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again return to present the show.
