Dancing on Ice's Ashley Banjo beams and says he's 'in love' with newborn daughter Rose as he's congratulated on becoming a dad by co-stars

Yesterday, the Diversity star revealed the happy news that wife Francesca had given birth to their first child on Thursday.

The couple named their little girl Rose Adura Banjo, but after minimal sleep with a newborn, Ashley was back to work today on the ITV skating show.

His co-stars were quick to congratulate him, with hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby saying: "The person on the panel who has had the biggest week is Ashley who has become a daddy, congratulations!"

Grinning from ear to ear, Ashley, 30, replying: "I am in love, I know she's not technically watching but daddy will be home soon Rose, I love you."

He then joked: "And thank you to the make up department because I look awful under here."

Holly, who has three children of her own, replied: "Get used to that, trust me."

Ashley took to Instagram on Saturday to share an adorable black and white snap of him and his wife with their baby girl in hospital.

The room was filled with balloons and gifts from family and friends while Francesca remained in bed with a blood pressure monitor still attached to her arm.

Ashley told fans: "Our beautiful daughter came into the world at 6.45pm on 21st February 2019 – weighing a healthy 8lbs and 13oz.

"Her name is Rose Adura Banjo. I am in the deepest love ever with my little family."

Adding a message to his wife, Ashley put: "I love you and am so proud. #NextChapter."
