Corrie star Kerri Quinn quits social media after receiving abuse online

Coronation Street star Kerri Quinn has revealed that she’s quite social media due to receiving abuse from online trolls.

The actress — who portrays Vicky Jeffries in the ITV soap — has been at the centre of one of the serial drama in recent months.

Speaking to Sunday Life about her decision to take some time away from social media, Kerri said: ‘I’ve been tending not to go on social media lately because I just don’t have the temperament to deal with people who are being cruel because they can.’

‘I’m quite fiery and don’t have the temper for it.’

‘But my mum is great, she’s on all the time and has started showing me all the nice things people are saying because you get it into your head the public don’t like you but that isn’t the case, they actually do seem to like me.’

‘It’s always nice to hear that because it’s easier for people to slate you rather than salute you’

Viewers have recently seen Kerri feature in a huge storyline in Corrie, as Vicki learned that fiancé Robert (Tristan Gemmill) was stringing her along, as he was also engaged to Michelle (Kym Marsh).

Robert was then arrested on suspicion of Vicky’s murder when she disappeared without a trace, but it soon came to light that both Vicky and Michelle had set Robert up in an attempt to get revenge.

Coronation Street continues Monday 23rd December at 7:30pm on ITV.
