Corrie house fire leaves one character in hospital amid domestic abuse horror

Coronation Street's Summer Spellman and Aaron Sandford's relationship has been rather turbulent to say the least, but next week in things take another devastating turn for the couple.

Mechanic Aaron will be left heartbroken when he discovers that his abusive father has been involved in a serious accident,

On Monday's episode, Aaron is bombarded with texts from his dad who is clearly angry with him but a worried Summer begs him not to go home.

Billy and Todd volunteer to check up on him and they confirm that he was in fact drunk and very angry when they saw Eric for themselves.

But later on when the police turn up at the flat, Aaron is stunned as the officer reveals his dad is currently in hospital following a house fire.

At the hospital Aaron’s relieved when his dad finally comes around, but is devastated when Eric groggily wishes he didn't survive the fire.

Aaron ends up blaming himself for ignoring his father's messages and leaving him unsupervised.

During Wednesday's episode, Summer begs Aaron to let her share his burden, but Aaron tells her he has to focus on his father at the moment, leaving her feeling crushed.

A while later Summer finds Billy entertaining a couple, Mike and Esther, in the flat. Explaining they are running a charity clothes swap event, Billy volunteers Summer to help to get her mind off of things.

Will Summer inform Billy of the increased pressure Aaron is currently under.
